Investigate: Before my visit I found out this about the company
Because of the nature of the work (Fabrication and Welding) little opportunity for hands on.
Day was used more for observation, discussion and interaction with staff.
Observe: While at the company I job shadowed an Employee. This is what happened:

Machining and Fitting Services.
Originally from British Steel. Trained Day Release at HCFE. HNC Qualified. Started as a fitter - then to Laings - oil rig work. Then moved into Management. Future develop management role within the group. -
Where do they see themselves in the future:

Working alongside industrial colleagues to form partnerships between schools and industry. To gain deeper understanding of what industry requires of the education system and to help industry understand how education can deliver those requirements especially in light of the development into Diploma's.
