Investigate: Before my visit I found out this about the company

Calm Asylum is a strategic marketing company. The company is split into 3 parts which deal with all aspects of marketing, from design to media production.

Observe: While at the company I job shadowed an Employee. This is what happened:

  • Employee Name: Mark Easby
  • Job Role: Company Director

Walk through through university at the same time as working for chilli rooms. Marks role is to over see the running of the firm and to investigate pitches for jobs and to help write briefs for jobs.

Interview: I talked with a member of staff to find out more about their role. This is what I found out:

  • Employee Name: Mark Easby
  • Job Role: Director
  • Pathway from school to their current position:
    Mark did GCSEs then went on to 6th Form College. to study Law, he found that Law was not for him and later dropped out of the year and went on to study Media at Teesside University. He also completed a Masters in Multi Media Enterprise.
  • Where do they see themselves in the future:

Participate: I took part in a work related activity. This is what happened:

    Helped to create a project for Tees Valley Events Guide. This involved me proof reading and offering ideas on the project. Attended weekly meeting about the job.
