Investigate: Before my visit I found out this about the company
Calm Asylum, previously Chilli Media have been in operation for years. Currently calm employ 10 members of staff. Calm offer a range of services including Design, Marketing, branding, digital media, public relations and media branding with the bulk of their business generated through web and print design.

Pathway from school to their current position:
Degree in Media Technology, placement at Chilli Media and given opportunity to complete Masters in Multimedia Enterprise. Now operations manager for Calm Asylum. -
Where do they see themselves in the future:
Participate: I took part in a work related activity. This is what happened:

Office was very busy at the time of visit so I was unable to participate in work with the developer. I did attend two meetings with clients, however, and this gave an excellent insight. -

Imagine: From the perspective of a student the advice I would give is:
The ability to understand a client’s problem is key. Ensure you fully understand their needs before starting the development process. You will need the ability creatively and have good communication skills to collaborate with other developers and to express your ideas back to the client. The ability to break projects into sub-sections and often work towards tight deadlines is also very important.

Having the opportunity to sit in meetings with Mark Easby, Operations Manager, has given me an invaluable insight into how the firm communicate with client and how ideas are expressed.
