A typical day is 60-70% at my desk working at my computer planning and communicating via email. The remaining time is spent in meetings reviewing project status and progressing various aspects of the operations needs and initiatives.

The advice I would give a young person wanting a career in this line of work is:

Concentrate on school work and make it a priority. Try to find ways of relating school work to a job to make it meaningful. Take opportunities to get part time work and take work experience in term time and holidays. Decide whether to take A Levels and University or Apprenticeships and Part time study - Both Work!
